Adam Marshall has long being an artist admired by the Maeve label. From featuring in early carnations of Mano Le Tough & The Drifter’s Passion Beat parties to producing tracks like “North at Night” and “Vamping”. Adam has always been an artist that all three of the Maeve founders were eager to work with.

Over the course of the last 12 months and through much back and forth, a four track package finally emerged that all parties now feel very proud to release into the world. “Low Poly Nature EP” features several guises of underground electronic music and in parts pushes their boundaries.

“Core Dub”, is a slick, quick, classic Canadian techno track. Tinged with nostalgia, the layered pianos and galloping beats make for a super A1 and great start to the record. “House Shipping (Jammed Mix)” is slightly more subdued, living up to its title, this beautiful meandering house tune feels like a dreamy jam and makes up the A2 of the release.

On the flip “Illusions of House” kicks things off, an off kilter jarring melody provides the basis for what initially feels a bit confusing but eventually graduates into quite the banger thanks to some well chosen percussion and excellent arranging. “Epsic Basic Drops”, rounds off the release and in many ways encapsulates the spirit of the whole record. This track again feels like a raw jam lifted straight from a studio session and in its beauty and madness leaves the listener a little puzzled as to how it should be defined.
